Role:

Blake, as Investments Officer, reports to the ViceChair, Chair, and President, effectively serving as lead Investment Officer. This is one of the most senior responsibilities, overseeing asset classes within the
investment strategy, for the organization. Additionally, the Investments Officer will strategize and evaluate the aid/grant deployment delivery (to families) that functions Rocky’s House mission. The Investments Officer will be deeply involved in evaluating and managing investments from early-stage venture, and work closely with the other Sr. Leadership & the Board of Directors, making recommendations and evaluating viability.

Blake & the Rocky’s House Board will begin developing an investment strategy to sourcing investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, monitoring performance, and managing relationships with external stakeholders. The Officer will contribute to investment policy and asset allocation discussions, as well as the review and preparation of materials for board and other stakeholder engagement.

Biography:

Blake is Vice President of Debt & Structured Finance at CBRE Affordable Housing, where his primary focuses are loan originations & managing transactions from engagement to closing. Blake has more than 14 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry. Prior to joining CBRE, he served various underwriting and origination roles with Prudential Mortgage Capital Company's affordable housing platform and specialized in the structuring of mortgage loans and credit enhancements for transactions including tax-exempt bond financed projects, LIHTC projects, and Section 8 projects. Blake brings with him extensive knowledge of Freddie Mac TAH, Fannie Mae MAH, and FHA loan programs. In his free time, Blake enjoys golf, travel, good food, good beer, good coffee & good company. He lives in Arlington, VA with his wife and Springer Spaniel.

Education:

Blake earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Penn State University.

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Blake's strong skills are:

Non-Profit Board experience (VP of Outpost Foundation), Fundraising Experience, Event Coordination (specifically Golf Fundraisers), Core Financial Markets expertise, Real Estate, Technical (official programs), analytical, organizational, communication, relationship building, leadership.

Blake's vision for Rocky’s House:

Short-Term: Develop pragmatic approach to aid grant money awarded. Work to set up parameters of qualifying factors to allocate awards. Begin initial infrastructure (website, filings, social media). Fundraising!

Long-Term: Sky is the limit, but given the mission of the org, we’re going to need the development towards a large balance sheet. I can see the ultimate goal towards having a $50mm+ balance sheet & allocating profits & yield annually to award on top of any donations we receive to sustainably be there as we change lives in perpetuity.
