Role:

Sara, as Secretary, will serve as the active conduit for communication between board members. She is responsible for proactively collaborating with board members to set up meetings, giving proper notice of any meetings, and promptly distributing materials like agendas and minutes. She will maintain board meeting attendance rolls and meeting minutes. She will be responsible for reviewing and updating
documents as necessary and ensuring all documents are safely stored and readily available to the board.
She will oversee any and all membership list(s) and maintain its membership contact(s) in pristine order
through CRM systems. She will ensure accurate contact information for the leadership team and maintain its records and be a ‘board expert’ on policies and procedures.

Biography:

Sara Lynn is a Senior Teacher at Hillside Elementary School in Ashburn Virginia. She has been an elementary school teacher for 16 years, having taught 3rd grade at Ashlawn Elementary (in Arlington VA) and 6th and 3rd Grade at Franklin Sherman Elementary (in McLean VA). In 2010, she was nominated for teacher of the year on behalf of the school district for the statewide award. Sara is the proud mother of R.J. “Rocky” Lynn – the namesake of the organization. She has made it her life’s mission to carry out the organizations mission to serve the many families who’ve encountered life’s hardships while being the caretaker for a critically-ill child.

Education:

Pennsylvania State University in 2009 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education.

George Mason University in 2016, with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Teacher Leadership.

Sara's strong skills are:
